Nicholas has over 20 years of professional experience and a passion for conservation which has taken him to work in environments as diverse as the Antarctic or the Tropics. Today, he offers A Rocha all-round support for our conservation work undertaking scientific research, developing and managing our programmes and projects, and fundraising.

Ed has a background is in disaster management and he spent the first ten years of his career in Africa, working mainly in war affected disasters. During that time he saw, time and again, the impact of a degraded environment on local communities. In 2008 he returned to England and spent the next 15 years working with the homeless. He set-up and ran Hope into Action – an award winning charity which enables churches to house the homeless. He has written two books, the first on his time overseas, the second one in which he has tried to capture how God has worked through the story of Hope into Action.

Born in Eldoret (north-west Kenya), Colin started A Rocha Kenya in 1999 after having worked for 3½ years with A Rocha Portugal. Colin provides vision and direction for the overall conservation work of A Rocha in Kenya, leading the team in its various projects and research. He is also involved in bird conservation at a national level, with the Kenya Bird Map.

A Prayer for the CBD

Lord God,

We pray for an end to the destruction of biodiversity and creation. We pray for the gifts of all God has made to be shared fairly, and to provide sustenance for communities and nations. We pray for just negotiations at the CBD, with courageous and wise outcomes. May obstructions to the process fail. May a vision of a world where nature flourishes be realised in our lifetimes.

Amen.
