A Rocha International – Communications Officer

Contract: Initial one-year fixed term, full time

Location: Remote. International travel once or twice a year 

Salary: Pay range in the local currency based on the local labour market

Are you a storyteller at home in a digital landscape and inspired by the creative potential of multimedia communication? We are looking for a gifted communicator to join our dynamic, culturally and geographically diverse team at an exciting moment in our history. 

For over 40 years and now on six continents, A Rocha has been protecting and caring for vulnerable habitats, species and communities in God’s name. As part of the communications team in A Rocha International and reporting directly to the Director of Communications, you will be equipping, representing and innovating this vital work around the world.  

You will receive training, support and opportunities to gain experience across a wide range of communications disciplines. And you will need to be open to new challenges, able to be flexible and have strong drive and initiative.  

Key responsibilities 

• Copywriting 

• Designing and brand work 

• Supporting the A Rocha Worldwide Family’s communications 

• Monitoring and reporting on relevant analytics 

• Supporting film production 

• Coordinating photography use 

• Maintaining and updating websites 

• Event support 

• Grant research and writing 

• Working with policies 

Essential qualifications & experience  

• Undergraduate degree, ideally in a relevant field such as communications/marketing/journalism/graphic design 

• 2+ years employed in a communications role 

• Excellent written and spoken English (an additional language is a bonus) 

• Proven track record for creating excellent copy across multiple channels 

• Experience of working within brand guidelines 

• Competence with design software (ideally Adobe Creative Suite and Canva Pro)
